Pharmacies at many supermarkets and drug stores offer a free and convenient way to take quick blood pressure readings. These stations or "kiosks", such as the one pictured here (CSI Model 3K, available from www.computerized-screening.com) are easy to use and are very accurate. Some provide an overall health assessment based on a series of questions about your health, such as gender, age, weight, and the amount of your daily exercise. This information can also be useful in conjunction with your blood pressure assessment to help you determine if you need professional consultation about your health. Stopping by several times a week to take a reading and tracking these readings at various times each day can provide a good profile of your blood pressure, indicating highs and lows and allowing you to calculate the average.
