Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitors provide a broad picture of the behavior of your blood pressure, using special equipment worn continuously. Our software provides similar results during waking hours (not during sleep) over the course of a week or longer, but without wearing special equipment. Measurements taken during the day with a portable wrist or arm monitor and entered into our software will graph trends, calculate weighted averages, median, and percent distribution of measurements by classification (e.g., low, normal, high normal, stage 1 high, stage 2 high).

Note 1: Classification tables used in Blood Pressure Profiler are for adults. However, the measurement data collected in the Tracking Log can be used by your pediatrician or child's family doctor to correlate with clinical tables for children, taking into account age, height, and weight variations to determine the proper classification. Pediatric and childen's monitors with smaller cuffs are available to fit children for many portable monitors on the market. Check with your pharmacist for recommendations.
Note 2: Blood Pressure Profiler is not intended to be a substitute for or to replace ABPM equipment. Rather, the software is a convenient way to evaluate your blood pressure during waking hours over time using an inexpensive portable blood pressure monitor. The results should be shared with your physician, who may then determine if an ABPM is an appropriate analytical treatment option.
